Uldis Upenieks has been elected to the Supervisory Board of JSC Development Finance Institution Altum for the period from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2029.
Uldis Upenieks holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. In 2018, he completed the Corporate Governance Programme for Financial Institutions at INSEAD, France.
Uldis Upenieks has more than eight years of experience serving on management boards and supervisory boards in large-scale projects involving finance, capital markets, risk management, IT transformation, and control systems. He also has more than ten years of experience in risk management, internal controls, compliance, cooperation with internal and external auditors, sanctions, AML/CFT, reputation risk, and regulatory risk management in the financial sector and regulated companies.
From August 2017 to January 2024, Uldis Upenieks served as a Member of the Management Board of AS “Citadele banka”; from April 2019 to December 2023, as a Member of the Supervisory Board of Kaleido Privatbank AG; from November 2012 to July 2017, as Chairman of the Management Board of IPAS “CBL Asset Management”; from March 2016 to July 2017, as a Member of the Supervisory Board of the Central Securities Depository of Latvia; and from July 2015 to July 2017, as a Member of the Supervisory Board of AAS “CBL Life” and AS “CBL Open Pension Fund”.
Since 2024, Uldis Upenieks has served as Chairman of the Audit Committee of AS “Air Baltic Corporation” and as a Member of the Management Board of SIA “xpate”.
Ieva Jansone-Buka has been re-elected as Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of AS “Development Finance Institution Altum” for the period from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2029.
Ieva Jansone-Buka continues to hold the position of Chair of the Supervisory Board of AS “Development Finance Institution Altum”, alongside her positions as a Member of the Supervisory Board of SIA “Tet”, a Member of the Management Board of SIA “IJ Birojs”, and a Member of the Management Board of the Latvian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.
JSC Attīstības finanšu institūcija Altum (JSC Development Finance Institution Altum) is a Latvian state-owned company that ensures access of the enterprises and households to the financial resources by means of support financial instruments - loans, guarantees, investments in venture capital funds - in the areas defined as important and to be supported by the state, thus developing the national economy and enhancing mobilization of the private capital and financial resources. On 28 January 2025 Moody’s Ratings affirmed Altum’s Baa1 long-term issuer rating, with outlook stable. The rating as well as the short-term issuer rating at P-2, the same as affirmed on 2 February 2024. ALTUM is rated by Moody’s Finance Companies Methodology, published in July 2024. On 24 October 2017 the bonds issued by Altum were listed on a regulated market – Baltic Bond List of Nasdaq Riga.
