As of May 12, Jānis Mūrnieks will be the Head of Development for the Retail Banking Segment at AS INDEXO Bank. J. Mūrnieks has previously served as the Head of Retail Banking at AS Citadele Bank and joins INDEXO Bank with over 20 years of experience in the banking industry. Meanwhile, the former Head of Development for the Retail Banking Segment and Board Member of INDEXO Bank, Vladimirs Bolbats, has accepted the challenge to continue his career in international financial markets.

From 2021 until the beginning of this year, Jānis Mūrnieks was the Head of Retail Banking at AS Citadele Bank, and before that, he held various senior positions in UniCredit financial group companies, including being the Head of UniCredit Leasing in Latvia and Chairman of the Board of UniCredit Insurance Broker. J. Mūrnieks has also worked within the UniCredit group in Milan, Italy. He holds a Master's degree in Business Management from RTU Riga Business School, as well as a Bachelor's degree with a specialization in banking.
Upon leaving the board of INDEXO Bank, Vladimirs Bolbats emphasizes: "This has undoubtedly been the most interesting phase of my career so far. Jānis Mūrnieks' candidacy for the position on the board of INDEXO Bank will be submitted for approval to the Bank of Latvia. The board of INDEXO Bank also includes Valdis Siksnis (Chairman of the Board), Ieva Bauma, Gints Ozoliņš, Evija Stūrmane, and Ivita Asare.
